Graphite Golf Clubs - A Crucial Tool
The selection of a right golf club is crucial as its choice can make or break the game. A proper identification of golf club need to made with great care as right choice can improve style and skills of player. The length of golf club, measurement of shaft and head size determines the technique adopted by a golfer. A golfer got many options to select, from steel to a graphite golf club that suits his playing style.
Graphite golf club: The graphite shafts in a golf club use variety of resins to bind layers of graphite fibers, covered around a steel rod called as mandrel. A thin layer of cellophane is then wrapped over graphite fiber in order to remain hold with mandrel. It is then placed in oven to bind graphite sheets and now its ready for the game after removal of uneven edges.
Graphite golf clubs have become popular over the years. These clubs are lighter than the steel golf clubs. An average graphite golf club weighs around 60 to 72 grams unlike the steel golf clubs which weigh around 110 to 125 grams. The light weight property of these clubs makes it possible to swing the ball to a larger distance. The lighter weight also exerts lower pressure to the back and shoulders of the player while swinging the ball. This lightweight feature of the graphite golf clubs has made them well-liked by amateurs as well as the women golfers and the senior citizens. The ability to extend the length of the graphite club makes them ideal for shorter people who can concentrate on the game without having to compromise on their playing technique.
The vibrations as a result of a swing are lower in a graphite golf club than in a steel club. A golfer who prefers lesser vibrations, therefore, favor a graphite golf club to a steel golf club. The choice, however, lies with the golfer. A player who is comfortable with the vibrations may stick to the steel golf clubs and not the graphite clubs.
Unlike the steel golf clubs graphite clubs require proper care for retaining its durability. Giving proper care can add to the life of the golf club. Care should be taken to protect the club from high temperatures as heat can adversely impact the bonding of the fiber to the mandrel. Exposure to the heat can remove the fastening properties of the adhesive that connect the shaft to the club heads.

Should I get my golf clubs extended?
I am 6'2-6'3 about 300 lbs ( I am not obese by any means, just a big guy) I am about a 10-13 handicap depending on the course. I am trying to fine tune my game. I found the clubs I like to play with, along with the type of golf ball that does the best for me. I am now trying to find tune my swing. I spray the ball of the tee, mostly to the right, but sometimes to the left. I played 2 holes with clubs that were extended and my own clubs, not only did I hit the ball straighter/longer, but shot 2 strokes better with the longer sticks. I went to Dicks Sporting Goods and got it all looked and i was told to just change my stance, but I am still crouched over my clubs. I really do feel that I need extenders on my clubs, i was thinking maybe a half inch? I went to Pings website and I am a "Gold dot" and it says half inch extension. But I wanted to know what someone else thought! Any input would be a great help. I'd prefer experienced players thoughts, but new players input is welcome! Thanks

There is nothing more important to "fine tuning" than having the proper fit in clubs. Any good golf store that offers clubs sales should have a certified club fitter. This trained person can use several tools to find the correct clubs for you. Four major factors are used when determining club fit.
1.Length: This is determined through a static measurement should be one of the first things tested.
2.Lie Angle: The lie adjustment of your clubs can be determined using a "strike board" and contact stickers to see where on the club face and sole you are making contact. When you adjust length, you also change this factor, making it critical.
3.Shaft flex: Swing monitors help determine speed groupings to help you pick the the flex. ie. stiff, senior, regular...
4.Grip size: This factor is often overlooked but shouldn't be. The proper grip can help reduce a lot of ball spraying.
Fitted clubs can be ordered and should cost no more than buying standard clubs. Any reputable golf store should not only offer this, but recommend it. If they don't, you're better off buying clubs elsewhere. Best of luck and shoot low rounds!
