Shipping Discount Golf Clubs On An Airline?
Planning for a golf vacation? Great! But will you take your own clubs with you? In that case, make sure you package them appropriately in order to withstand an airline's baggage check process.
>Consider a direct shipping service such as Luggage Forward (see resources below) instead of lugging your discount golf clubs to the airport. Quite a few door-to-door shipping services come directly to your house, package your clubs and deliver them to your destination.
>Purchase, borrow or rent a suitable travel golf bag that is airline appropriate. These bags can be very expensive, so unless you travel frequently with your clubs, it may not be cost-effective to purchase a travel golf case.
>Visit your specific airline's website to view their requirements for checking sports equipment. Discount golf clubs must be in a hard shell container or the passenger must sign a limited liability release waiver. Do not forget.
>Make sure to arrive at the airport earlier than usual because you are transporting a large, heavy golf bag in addition to your regular luggage. Tag your travel golf bag with your name, address and phone number. Realize that taxis and airport shuttles may charge an additional fee for transporting and/or carrying such an oversize item. Have a backup club rental plan in case your golf bag does not arrive as scheduled.

Question about Ryanair sports equipment allowance?
We are travelling to Portugal tomorrow and my partner is taking his golf clubs in a zipped golf carry case. We have paid the fee for this and was wondering are we allowed to put extra luggage such as towels etc in the Golf Club Case, as well as the golf clubs, as long as its not over our allowed luggage weight?
Will Ryanair allow this?
